Free Groceries Friday in Plant City and Gibsonton: County Giveaways Run 4 to 5:30 P.M. With No Income Limits
Hillsborough County's Healthy Living Program and Feeding Tampa Bay will hand out free groceries at two east-county sites on Friday, November 6 - fresh produce, meats and staples, open to any county resident, while supplies last.

PLANT CITY - Two free grocery giveaways are set for eastern Hillsborough County on Friday, November 6, both running from 4 to 5:30 p.m. or while supplies last. The county's Healthy Living Program hosts the events with Feeding Tampa Bay at the Plant City Community Resource Center, 307 North Michigan Avenue in Plant City, and the Gardenville Recreation Center, 6219 Symmes Road in Gibsonton, according to the Brandon Dispatch report read by this desk and the county's own program flyer.
The food generally includes fresh fruit and vegetables, meats and canned goods, plus staples like beans and rice - and the county says there are no income restrictions to receive it. The Healthy Living Program usually gives away food once a month from January through October; the November and December rounds add extra giveaways for the holiday season, which is why two sites run on the same afternoon this week.
The giveaways land in a month when this station has also reported delayed November SNAP deposits pushing new families toward Feeding Tampa Bay - Friday's events are the scheduled, open-to-everyone end of that same safety net. For more information, the county lists Hillsborough County Health Care Services at (813) 272-5040, Option 7.
