John Washington III Asks Why People Keep Following Politicians Who Do Not Care About Them (Tampa Watch News)

John Washington III is asking why people keep following politicians who, he wrote, do not care about them. "WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP FOLLOWING POLITICIANS WHO DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THEM?" John Washington III wrote, saying he has serious questions for the American people about why they care so much about what somebody thinks when that same person does not care anything about them.

John Washington III asked why people continue supporting politicians who talk like they love the people but whose actions tell a different story, why some politicians campaign on one thing and then vote for something completely different, and why people keep defending those politicians without even checking their voting records. "STOP LISTENING TO WHAT THEY SAY AND START PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY DO!" John Washington III wrote.

John Washington III also asked how some politicians become millionaires while holding public office. Most members of Congress receive an annual salary of $174,000, John Washington III wrote, and he asked where the additional money comes from — investments, businesses, inheritance, or financial relationships and payments the public does not know about. Having millions of dollars does not automatically mean somebody committed a crime, John Washington III wrote, but being a public official should never put anyone above financial scrutiny, and he pointed to the public financial disclosure requirements members of Congress already have as records the American people should examine.

Any politician who is secretly accepting illegal payments in exchange for political favors should be investigated, John Washington III wrote, and if the evidence proves corruption, they should be held accountable. The statement, as posted, ends at that point.
