John Washington III Questions Whether Judges Put the Constitution and the People First
John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, raised a conflict-of-interest question about state judges, asking why people feel their constitutional rights do not get a fair look in court.

John Washington III is raising a conflict-of-interest question about the judges who decide cases in state courts. John Washington III wrote that state judges are bound by the U.S. Constitution and, in Texas, also swear to uphold the state constitution — and John Washington III asked why, too often, people feel the constitution that should come first gets overlooked.
John Washington III asked why people walk into court again and again and feel their constitutional rights do not get a fair look, why outcomes can feel pre-decided, and why loyalty to an office seems to matter more than loyalty to the people. Judges ask for the people's vote, John Washington III wrote, and then serve their office instead of the people.
"That's not justice. That's not acceptable," John Washington III wrote. John Washington III said the people deserve judges who put the constitution and the people first.
