Southbound I-275 Closes Completely Tonight From Floribraska Avenue to the I-4 Interchange, FDOT Says (Tampa Watch News)

Downtown Tampa's biggest overnight road work of the week starts tonight. The Florida Department of Transportation lists a full closure of southbound Interstate 275 from Floribraska Avenue to the I-4 interchange, from 10 p.m. Sunday, November 1 to 5 a.m. Monday, November 2, weather permitting, while crews remove equipment for the Downtown Tampa Interchange safety and operational improvements project.

The detour is a surface-street loop: southbound drivers exit at Floribraska Avenue, Exit 46A, turn right on Floribraska Avenue, then left on Tampa Street, and follow it back to re-enter southbound I-275, FDOT says. Anyone crossing downtown Tampa late tonight or in the small hours of Monday should expect that detour traffic on Tampa Street and slower trips through the interchange area.

The same interchange works again the next night: the westbound I-4 ramp to northbound I-275 is listed closed from 10 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday for maintenance under the same project. And a few blocks east, I-4 itself takes lane closures between 15th Street and 26th Street from Sunday through Thursday nights, 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., for the eastbound auxiliary lane project, FDOT's Hillsborough list says.
