Douglas Beck and Clark Futch join the authority that governs Gainesville's municipal utility, and Eric Lawson is reappointed, in an October 30 announcement from the Governor's Office.

Gov. Ron DeSantis has set three seats on the Gainesville Regional Utilities Authority, the board that governs Gainesville's city-owned utility. In an October 30 announcement, the Governor's Office said Douglas Beck and Clark Futch are appointed and Eric Lawson is reappointed to the authority.
Beck is retired from Gainesville Regional Utilities itself, where he served in various roles since 2005; he holds a Florida Professional Engineering License and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Indiana Institute of Technology, according to the announcement. Futch works at the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business and holds a bachelor's degree in food and resource economics from UF and a master's degree from the University of Arkansas.
Lawson, the reappointed member, previously served as chief executive officer of HCA North Florida Hospital and as chief financial officer of HCA North Florida Hospital, HCA Orange Park Hospital and HCA St. Joseph's Hospital, the Governor's Office said.
