Hillsborough's Fight the Blight Cleanup Starts Today in Seffner and Plant City: What Can Go to the Curb This Week
For five days, county crews will haul away the stuff that normally costs a trip and a fee: Hillsborough's Fight the Blight cleanup runs November 2-6 in three neighborhood zones in Seffner and Plant City, and residents can set eligible items at the curb the night before pickup.

Hillsborough County's Fight the Blight cleanup starts today. The curbside program runs Monday through Friday, November 2-6, in three neighborhood zones: Seffner Trail and Mobile, Seffner NW, and Oakview Estates in Plant City. Residents inside those zones can set eligible items at the curb the night before pickup, and the county's Rapid Response team hauls them away.
The boundaries matter - outside them, nothing is collected. Seffner Trail and Mobile is bordered by Henry Street, East Old Hillsborough Avenue, Mobile Drive and Trail Drive. Seffner NW is bordered by U.S. 92, Lee Street and Hillsborough Circle, Mobile Villa Drive and Royal Oak Drive, and Williams Road. Oakview Estates is bordered by North Willow Drive, Jim Johnson Road, Clemons Road, and West Willow Drive and Pineway Drive.
The county team will take furniture, junk, debris, metal, electronics and up to five non-commercial tires. It will not accept yard waste, commercial vehicle tires or hazardous chemicals. The program is funded through the annual solid waste assessments paid by community property owners - which is the point of Fight the Blight: the neighborhoods that pay for the service get a week where the curb does the work.
