Hillsborough Parks Close Out Halloween Saturday With Three Free Skate Jams and Paws in the Park
Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation's free Halloween lineup finishes Saturday, October 31, with skate jams at Providence, Jackson Springs and Apollo Beach and a costumed-dog parade in Apollo Beach.

Hillsborough County's month of free Halloween programming in its parks comes down to one last day on Saturday, October 31. Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation lists Halloween Skate Jams at three parks on Saturday, all free: Providence Skate Park, with registration from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and the event from 6 to 9 p.m.; Jackson Springs, registration 4:30 to 5 p.m. and the event from 5 to 7 p.m.; and Apollo Beach, registration 6 to 6:30 p.m. and the event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The day starts with the dogs. Paws in the Park runs from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Apollo Beach Dog Park, where owners can bring a dog in costume, have its picture taken, and compete for prizes for the top three dogs, according to the county.
The Saturday skate jams close a county Halloween calendar that ran all month, from trunk-or-treat nights at parks across the county on October 30 to movies in the park and an inclusive Halloween dance for adults with disabilities, the county's Parks & Recreation page says. Every event on the county's Halloween list is free.
