Southbound I-275 Closes Sunday Night in Downtown Tampa, With a Floribraska Avenue Detour
FDOT will close all southbound I-275 lanes from Floribraska Avenue to the I-4 interchange from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, detouring drivers through downtown Tampa.

Drivers heading south through downtown Tampa late Sunday have a full closure to plan around. The Florida Department of Transportation says all motorists traveling southbound on I-275 must detour off the interstate using Floribraska Avenue, Exit 46A, from 10 p.m. Sunday, November 1, to 5 a.m. Monday, November 2, weather permitting.
The posted detour is short and stays downtown: exit at Floribraska Avenue, turn right, then turn left onto Tampa Street and re-enter the interstate using the southbound I-275 entrance ramp. FDOT says the closure is needed for maintenance activities as part of the Downtown Tampa Interchange safety and operational improvements project covering the I-275 and I-4 junction.
Sunday night also starts a run of overnight lane work elsewhere in Hillsborough County on FDOT's listings. Repaving on State Road 60, Kennedy Boulevard, from Woodlynne Avenue to Brevard Avenue brings lane closures Sunday through Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and the I-75 widening between the Tampa Bypass Canal and Fowler Avenue lists lane closures on Sunday nights through December 11 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. FDOT reminds drivers to check FL511 for live conditions before heading out.
