Treasure Island Police Run a DUI Checkpoint on the Causeway on Halloween Night
Treasure Island police will staff a DUI checkpoint on the Treasure Island Causeway from 8 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday, aimed at impaired drivers on one of the busiest party nights of the year.

Drivers crossing to Treasure Island on Halloween night should expect a checkpoint. The Treasure Island Police Department will run a DUI checkpoint on the Treasure Island Causeway from 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, to 3 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, according to the City of Treasure Island's official site.
The city says the checkpoint is focused on impaired drivers and traffic safety. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and the Causeway is the main road on and off the island for a night when Tampa Bay's beach communities draw heavy costume-party and bar traffic — the same evening Tampa's own Halloween guide has thousands out in Ybor City and across the bay.
For drivers, the practical advice is the standard checkpoint drill: have a license and registration ready, expect a brief stop, and plan a sober ride before the night starts. Anyone heading home from the beaches after midnight should budget extra time for the Causeway crossing while the checkpoint is up.
