Tampa Police Investigate Shattered Windows at Two Seminole Heights Businesses
A Pilates studio on North Central Avenue and a dry cleaners a few blocks away on North Florida Avenue were both left with broken windows early Sunday, and Tampa police say they have not confirmed what broke the glass - or whether the two incidents are connected.

Two Seminole Heights businesses spent Sunday dealing with broken glass. Tampa police responded to the 6100 block of North Central Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday for a report of a broken window at Hourglass Pilates, the department told Tampa Bay 28. No one was inside when it happened, and officers found nothing out of place inside. Based on nearby surveillance footage, investigators believe the window broke at about 2:30 a.m.
The studio's owner, Brittany, learned of the damage after a client alerted her and reviewed her surveillance video. She told reporters she heard what sounded like a gunshot as the window shattered and a truck pulled away - but police have not confirmed what caused the window to break, and the owner herself said she could not tell from the footage whether something was thrown at the glass or a gun was fired. Clients helped clean up the broken glass on Sunday, and neighbors shared glass-company contacts and offered help boarding the opening.
A few blocks away, officers also responded to McNatt's Dry Cleaners on North Florida Avenue, which was closed when its window was damaged; by Sunday afternoon the broken window was covered with a tarp and glass remained on the ground outside. Tampa police have not said whether the same person or vehicle was involved in both incidents. Anyone who witnessed either incident or has surveillance footage is asked to contact the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130, referencing case number 26-641848. The investigation is ongoing.
