Kennedy Boulevard Repaving Takes Lanes at Night Through Thursday, FDOT Says
Kennedy Boulevard's repaving crew owns the night shift this week: lanes close from Woodlynne Avenue to Brevard Avenue, 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Kennedy Boulevard is getting its new surface the way Tampa gets most of its road work - after dark. The Florida Department of Transportation says the SR 60 repaving project will close lanes on Kennedy Boulevard from Woodlynne Avenue to Brevard Avenue on nights from Sunday, November 1 through Thursday, November 5, between 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
The window is deliberate: the closures start after the evening peak and end before the morning one, keeping the boulevard's daytime commute intact while milling and paving crews work the empty hours. Drivers out late - including anyone crossing the peninsula after evening events downtown - should expect lane shifts, fresh-asphalt transitions and slower going through the work zone.
Thursday night is the last scheduled night in this round, per FDOT's listing. The project is the SR 60 (Kennedy Boulevard) Repaving from Woodlynne Avenue to Brevard Avenue; FDOT's closure listings are weather permitting and can shift with the same wet week Tampa is having, so late-night drivers should check the district's listings before counting on a clear run.
