Southbound I-275 Closes Completely Tonight From Floribraska Avenue to the I-4 Interchange, 10 P.M. to 5 A.M., FDOT Says (Tampa Watch News)

Downtown Tampa's southbound interstate goes dark overnight. The Florida Department of Transportation lists a full closure of southbound I-275 from Floribraska Avenue to the I-4 Interchange from 10 p.m. Monday, November 2 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, weather permitting. The posted detour takes drivers off at Exit 46A, Floribraska Avenue, right and then left onto Tampa Street to re-enter southbound I-275; drivers bound for eastbound I-4 follow Tampa Street and turn left onto Scott Street to the eastbound I-4 ramp.

The closure is separate from the westbound I-4 ramp work this station has been tracking on the same interchange, and it clears at 5 a.m. - two hours before Election Day polls open at 7 a.m. across Hillsborough County, so the morning drive to the precincts runs on a reopened interstate if the work holds to its window.

Election night brings the interchange's next item: the eastbound I-4 ramps at Exit 9 to I-75 close nightly from Tuesday, November 3 through Thursday, November 5, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., with a detour via Exit 10 and Mango Road. And in the daytime Tuesday, FDOT lists lane closures on U.S. 41B - Florida Avenue - at Hanna Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., squarely inside polling hours on a corridor some North Tampa voters will use to reach their precincts.
