The Howard Frankland's Express Lanes Close Wednesday and Thursday Nights, and I-275 and I-4 Carry the Rest of Election Week's Night Work

Election Day itself is clear of new interstate work, but the nights around it are not: express-lane closures on the Howard Frankland Bridge Wednesday and Thursday, southbound I-275 lane work in Pinellas, and I-4 westbound lanes through Thursday.

The Howard Frankland's Express Lanes Close Wednesday and Thursday Nights, and I-275 and I-4 Carry the Rest of Election Week's Night Work (Tampa Watch News)

The bridge Tampa Bay commutes across gets the week's headline night work a day after the vote. The Florida Department of Transportation lists northbound lane closures in the I-275 Howard Frankland Bridge express lanes, from the Pinellas side toward Hillsborough, on Wednesday, November 4 and Thursday, November 5, nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Pinellas drivers get the earlier start. FDOT lists southbound lane closures on I-275 between 54th Avenue North (Exit 26) and 38th Avenue North (Exit 25) on Monday, November 2 and Wednesday, November 4, nights from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. - and the southbound Exit 25 ramp to 38th Avenue North remains closed outright, as it has been since October 5, for an extended period.

On the Hillsborough side, the I-4 safety project keeps its westbound lane closures running from the Tampa Bypass Canal to west of the I-75 ramps, Sunday, November 1 through Thursday, November 5, nights from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. All of it clears by morning - including Tuesday morning, when the drive to the polls runs on the reopened pavement left by Monday night's downtown interchange closures.
